Bollywood Reacts to Paresh Rawal's Exit
The Bollywood community was taken aback when Paresh Rawal, renowned for his memorable portrayal of ‘Babu Bhaiya’, declared his departure from the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3.
In a surprising development, Akshay Kumar's production company, Cape of Good Films, has initiated legal proceedings against Rawal, claiming a breach of contract amounting to Rs 25 crore.
As reported by a leading news outlet, the legal team, Parinam Law Associates, stated that Rawal had publicly committed to the film on January 30, 2025, and solidified this agreement by signing a term sheet. The law associate noted, 'Mr. Rawal confirmed his involvement in the film through a post on his official X.com (formerly Twitter) account on January 30, 2025. He further formalized his commitment by signing a Term Sheet on March 27, 2025, for which he accepted an initial payment of Rs 11,00,000/-.'
The statement continued, 'Filming for the teaser began on April 3, 2025, during which over three minutes of footage featuring Mr. Rawal was recorded. He also participated in creative discussions with co-stars, including Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, without raising any concerns about creative differences at that time.'
Previously, rumors circulated on social media suggesting that Rawal's exit was due to creative disagreements with the film's producers. However, Rawal clarified that his decision was not based on such issues, although he did not disclose the actual reason for his departure.
Suniel Shetty expressed his disbelief regarding Rawal's unexpected exit, asserting that Hera Pheri 3 cannot proceed without him. He remarked, 'It cannot happen. 100 percent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal. It can have a 1 percent chance without me and Akshay, but it absolutely cannot happen without Paresh ji. Raju and Shyam need Babu's presence for it to work.'
In a revealing interview, filmmaker Priyadarshan mentioned that he was initially reluctant to direct the film but agreed after Akshay Kumar's persuasion. He later expressed his frustration over Rawal's exit without explanation, stating that he prefers to spend time with his family rather than deal with unprofessional actors.
